THIS IS A ORIGINAL FAIRGROUND ORGAN MADE BY THE McCARTHY FAMILY OF BASINSTOKE, IT IS THE 31 KEYLESS MODEL, THE ULTIMATE MUSIC BOX... FABULOUS FOR ANY OUTDOOR EVENTS.....

This Organ was made about 25 years ago for a well known Fairground Owner, he used it for his and his families use only until he replaced it with a larger Organ. It passed through two subsequent owners who kept it until they retired and then in 2002 it was purchased by us and brought to Northern Ireland. Over the years each owner has purchased various Music Books of all tastes to the tune of 100 plus, these were supplied by well known Music Book makers such as G.P. McCarthy, A. Whitehead & Co, Melvyn Wright, Francis Stapleton and others, and if you know anything about the cost of these Books you will appreciate the collection, play times from 5 to 16 mins.

The facia of the Organ was decorated by the well known Fairground artist Mr Neddy Matthews to the design of the first owner, she is called "Aint She Sweet" and she really is, the sound is wonderful, you see the Bandsman, his right arm holding the Baton moves in beat with the music playing, as does the Ladies holding the Bells, - when in operation the Castanets operate as with the drums and Glockenspeil and all the others instruments within.

The Organ facia is 8 feet 4 inches wide and 5 feet 6 inches high, We had it until recently fitted onto a British Leyland LDV box van. It is now fitted into a twin-axle box trailer specifically built for a fairground organ.

Around the back everyone can see the works, it is a excellent machine to behold when working, it has its own power supply by way of a Honda EB 1500 petrol generator, also it uses mains supply. A list of the tunes is available so the punters can !PICK - A - TUNE!.
